Northrop Grumman Collaboration Project (NGCP) is a multi-disciplinary project that is a partnership between Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly SLO, and Northrop Grumman Corporation. The project changes from year to year, but during my time on the project we were tasked with developing some autonomous air vehicles and supporting ground vehicles to simulate a hiker rescue situation. My role on the team was to support the ground vehicle in a systems engineering role.

This project was challenging to say the least. It's one thing to develop a vehicle, but developing multiple vehicles through multiple schools, with a team of over one hundred people... you do the math.
It was interesting to see how each team dealt with the pandemic. Things like vehicle testing was a challenge because we weren't allowed on campus. It came down to clever ways to test and verify vehicles and vehicle functions.
